If you've had it with your present muscle gains and are ready to give up, I understand exactly what you are going through. I finally figured out the correct way to put on muscle mass after I had been going to the gym for years.
This is when I discoverd a gentleman by the name of Jason Ferruggia. Jason has sacraficed more than 17 years weightlifting including 14 years as a personal instructor. He is a professional strength & conditioning coach, trainer, lecturer and consultant. Jason has been featured in a whole host of magazines such as Men’s Fitness, Men’s Health and Maximum Fitness.
Here is just a sapmle of the weight lifting tips that I’ve learned from Jason. I've personally found these techniques to be extremely effective in building solid muscle and adding a lot of strength in as short a time as possible.
Perform each specific exercise to failure utilizing the proper weight for 3 sets of 8-10 repetitions. When performing these exercises you are better off using free weights instead of machines, but you will have to watch your form.
If you do not allow adequate time for your muscles to recover between gym sessions,vyour muscles will not be ready to progress. Your should check your recovery methods if you find that you are not making some progress from week to week. Always allow your muscles to rest so they can keep growing.
Make sure to set goals for yourself. Ask youself this question, what would I like to accomplish. What shape would you like to be in six months to a year from now? Is gaining strength for sports the reason you want to lift weights? Do you want to build muscle so you can look good at the beach? Are you lifting weights to get stronger? Once you can figure out why you want to lift weights you will have a great motivator to continue lifting weights.
